Setting up multiple accounts on Outlook Express
I recently got a new computer and discovered that I had Outlook Express on it. I finally figured out the server information to add accounts to OE, but I have not figured out the precise way to add another account.
My problem is this: If I have one identity with two accounts; upon logging into that identity, it consecutively prompts me for passwords for those two accounts. Therefore, the incoming messsges for the two accounts are put together.
Now, if I make two identities, then it is a hassle to log in/out of one identity to get to another. Also, it appears as if McAfee only recognizes one identity and thus one e-mail account when there are two identities.
My question is how you get around making more than one identity for more than one account. I remember when I used to have Microsoft Outlook and when you opened it, there was a scroll down arrow to choose which account you would like to use (sign in with). Is there a way to do this with Outlook Express, and thus avoid all the problems, confusions, and hassles?

- I'm not sure I understand your question. First I thought you wanted to know how to create multiple identities in OE but you already knew that. Then I thought you wanted to know how to add another POP3 email account in OE, again.. you knew it already. So... what's the question? I think you want to know how to configure OE to prompt for "Identity" just like Outlook prompts for "Profiles". Am I right? That's easy. Exit and logoff OE Identity. Next time you run OE, you'll be given a list of Identities to login to.

- The term in Outlook is "Profile". You may create different profiles for different users or email accounts. In Outlook Express, it's called "Identity". They pretty much work the same way, to separate users/email accounts.
To be prompted for Identity when you run OE, click File - Exit and Log off Identity. Next time you go in, you'll see a list of available identities. Choose 1 and click OK to open the Identity.

Thank you for all of your help. I appreciate it... In addition, I think that Spamkiller is just a big hassle anyway; it does basically what Outlook Express can do anyway (Filter Junk-email). Therefore, I will probably just uninstall it.

Thank you first of all for replying. What I am looking for is the old "scroll down" option for different e-mail accounts that I remember Microsoft Outlook having. Now that I think about it, it was probably Microsoft Outlook's way of having "identities." Is this what you meant by profile? If so, then I guess you have to go through the identities process in order to "separate" incoming e-mail.
My concern with this identities thing, however, is that McAfee (Spamkiller) only recognizes the one (main) identity/e-mail account. With the second identity/e-mail account; it is not recognized. Do you have any information on why this might happen and what might need to be done? Thank you for your time...
