I'm running XP Pro with the taskbar set to vertical, aprox. 3/4" wide, positioned on the right side of  monitor (1) of (2) monitors.

Is there a way to shorten the taskbar so that it does not extend the entire vertical length? Ideal length for my use would be about 33% of the vertical axis while staying with the 3/4" width.

If not, does SP2 make any provision for doing this?

Dell 4300S, P4 1.8GHz, 512 Ram, Appian Graphics Hurricane dual monitor card (1280x1024)
