I have my computer set up with an adminstrator account and a user account. Does the proxy have to be on the administrator account to hide my IP, or will it do the job from the other user account?
A proxy server is not part of your computer. If you are using a proxy to connect to the internet then you would probably have to configure it for all users.
Thank you for trying to answer my question. I understand that the Administrator account should be used as little as possible because that can compromise your security. Therefore I have the proxy set up on another user account with less authority. If the administrator account is not open or logged into, shouldn't my IP be hidden when I log onto the lesser account to use the proxy? Or will the administrator's IP override it even though I am not logged into it? And I am wondering if I can switch back and forth between my user accounts, depending on whether I want to use the proxy or not, and still have the proxy work when I am on that account. I guess I need to go to a proxy forum for the answer. Thanks for your time. :emotion-52::emotion-59::emotion-52:
