I have an application which I run on a really old Toshiba XP laptop, and I also run it on my Vostro1700 under vista.

On my old laptop the application works fine and is fast.

On Vista it works fine except for saving files. It slows to a snail-pace, and I have to go away and find something else to do while it churns away. 

Running as an administrator makes no difference.

It is very reminiscent of the slowness when extracting files from a zipped folder (is there a fix for that yet????)

 

Any thoughts/suggestions most welcome!
