When I originally bought my laptop Vostro 1500 I had XP 32 bit installed on it. However my processor supports 64 bit OS and when windows 7 came out I bought Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and installed it. Installation went fine and everything works great. However the problem I am having is - now that I would like to update my drivers, I do not know how to proceed. When I had XP, I used to use resource CD, however now that I have W7 and when I go online , insert my device tag - then from drop down menu from drivers page - there is no Windows 7 option, infact there isnt even Windows Vista (neither 32 bit or 64 bit ) option to choose from? I actually had to go to Nvidia home site to get graphics card update, and I am sure I could get other drivers. however - I am not aware what all drivers I do need to install to make my laptop up to date.

When I went to Windows 7 Compitability page on Dell site, it didnt have Vostro 1500 ( it did have vostro 1510 and vostro 1520 ), suggesting Vostro 1500 is not compatible with W7? Well ive installed ultimate and it works perfect.

So how do I get access to Windows 7 x64  drivers that would work on my Vostro 1500.

Or if the vostro 1500 is not supported does it mean I have to get drivers from the hardware makers own site?

Any help would be apprishiated, thank you
