Go to control panel>add/remove programs. Select windows componets add/remove. When that opens scroll the list and uncheck the box for windows messenger and select apply and ok. Then look for .Net messenger and if you see it do the same. Don't know if they are the same. You can also open that window and select options or preferences and stop these from starting when windows starts and from the systray. And also in control panel>internet options and under connections mark the circle that says never dial a connection. Try these. Last resort select start>run and type in msconfig and under services remove the checkmark from the box where they are listed. If you do this when you reboot you will get a message about running a selective startup or something like that and just check the box to not show this again. You will not need to do all the above. These are options and you may need to do more than one of them.
