Today, we downloaded Windows Service Pack 2. It installs a firewall. Norton is functioning our system. Apparently, it is not good to have two firewall systems running concurrently. Should we enable the Windows firewall or leave it off and allow Norton to function as the firewall? Is there an insight or answer regarding this situation? Thanks!
If you're comfortable with Norton then don't enable Windows' firewall. One new feature of SP2 is that if Norton's firewall is turned off for some reason, Windows' firewall will automatically turn itself on.
(At least, I think it works with Norton. It does with ZoneAlarm.)
I downloaded SP2 today, haven't had a bit of trouble with running both firewalls.

Microsoft official advice is to turn off its firewall if you have another one active. In fact that is also the advice from othere firewalls (haven't checked with Norton as I use ZA, but I would think they would also advise that). Why have two apps simultaneouly doing the same thing?
