I have a Dell inspiron running Windows vista premium

 

I am having problem  setting up my windows vista mail account.

Although i can receive emails i can’t send them. I receive an error message saying:” The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.The rejected e-mail address was . Subject 'trial', Account: 'pop3.ukonline.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.ukonline.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 relay not permitted', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 The mailserver responded ;relay not permitted. Please check the message recipients and try again.”

I contacted my ISP i followed their advice but in vain. The problem again.They advised me to contact microsoft. In microsoft website i could not find anything that could help me.

When i log on to my ISP web site i can send email from there but i can’t send them from my windows mail program.

I have another computer which run windows xp home edition and i dont have such problems with sending emails. Why then i have such problems with vista? It seems that there  is something wrong with the vista operating system rather than the ISP i’m using.

If anybody could help i would much appreciate that.
