I own a copy of XP Pro from a now-defunct computer system. My new Inspiron came with XP Home. Is it worthwhile to install XP Pro on the system?

If so, I've read in several places that the Inspiron uses a lot of "custom" settings through Windows for Power Management, etc. Is this something I should worry about? Can I just set these settings myself or do they need to match the Dell-shipped settings?
