"This installation is forbidden..."
I checked the Dell site today to see if there are any updates. I have most Dell, Killer and Wave services disabled, so I don't get auto-updates. I do this b/c I have a twitchy Yamaha/Steinberg audio driver that has issues with bloatware from these companies. In day-to-day operation, my 8950 works great - audio and all.
Today I found WiFi drivers from Killer and Intel as "critical" updates. Knowing that software and drivers I don't want enabled, will likely be installed and enabled by running these updaters along with some drivers I want updated. That's ok, as I have gotten good with finding and disabling problematic bloatware. I just want the drivers. So, I ran the first two Killer updates...
- Killer-AX1690-AX1675-AX1650-and-Intel-AX411-AX211-AX210-AX201-AX200-9560-9642-8265-8260-7265-3165_943H6_WIN64_22.170.0.2_A38_02
- Killer-Wireless-1690-1675-1650-Wi-Fi-Driver_5KR5W_WIN_3.1222.7103_A27_01
... then, when I tried to run this Intel update...
- Intel-AX411-AX211-AX210-AX200-AX201-9260-9560-9462_KJDHM_WIN_22.170.2.1_A43_01
... it threw this error
- This installation is forbidden by policy. Contact your system administrator.
I ran the installer as an Admin, so that shouldn't' be the culprit here. Maybe the Intel updater is a duplicate of the Killer updater, so it just won't run?
Any ideas? Maybe this just doesn't matter? Let me know what you think.

Well, I followed the info in that thread, but no dice.
I just deleted the related hardware - bluetooth and wifi - restarted and re-ran the Killer updates. The Intel update still does not work, but honestly, everything looks like the latest drivers and the machine runs great. Not sure if that Intel update is necessary. Think I am good for now.

@billyjk - Did you use your Service Tag to look for updates specific for your own system? Or did you just look at the entire list of XPS 8950 driver updates and pick all the new ones?
The name of the Killer WiFi update seems to cover all the same WiFi adapters in the name of the Intel update, and it also includes a few more. So I doubt you need both driver updates, especially since your system is working correctly.
FWIW, Intel driver updates aren't known for always providing "useful" error messages. An error message like you got might actually mean the driver that's already installed is either the same or newer than the one you're just tried to install. In the past, a "Failed" Intel driver sometimes actually really meant the installed driver was the same or newer...
So if it ain't broke, don't break it!

This forum thread may help and it does appear to be a problem with a different/older adapter detected in Device Manager.
