How is Avamar of what files are tied to what users? Or is that only the case when a user runs an on-demand backup?

It will only show the files for the user that is currently logged in.

I'm not fully sure what you are asking, but you will setup what gets backed up through a dataset and the restore web application uses the credentials of the currently logged in user

Let me put it this way, there's a default dataset out there that takes a backup of My Documents every day. Is there anything to prevent User A from logging onto User B's computer and doing a restore of User A's documents?

The only way User A can access User B's data is if User A is able to login as user B or has admin rights in Avamar

What if the users have Local Admin rights on the various machines ? I have reports of a user who has logged onto 2 different machines and has been able to restore another user's file on each of those machines.

I think Avamar needs read writes to the files so considering this does that mean that any user who has local admin rights will be able to restore other users files ?
