We are new to the Clariion arena and have a question. We plan on using RAID 5 to support the VMFS but there is a question as to whether we should use a different RAID level (eg RAID 0 or 1/0) for the vcb staging area that we will be allocating to the VCB proxy server. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?


Also, from all the reading we have been doing, we see that they recommend using RAID 5 configuration with 4+1 and 8+1 raid groups. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Since we have large disks (400GB) we may want to go with smaller RAID groups.
