Newbie here so please bear with me

A site we manage has a CX500 array that is still within warranty. We would like to upgrade the sites VMware infrastructure to vSphere 4.0 Update 2 as the ESX 3.5 suite is nearing EOL. VMwares HCL does not list the CX500 as supported. We are not worried so much about support per say, but would like to verify if the SAN is compatible and potentially supported if needed. If FLARE or other components need to be upgraded, we can accomplish that with minimal impact.

Can anyone provide information as to what I would need to do to get answers to the compatibility question and what we would need to do moving forward?
