64 Days

I am posting this because I want other customers and potential customers to know what I have been experiencing.

I am now on Day 64 since purchasing a television from Dell.

The first TV showed up smashed, delivered by a third party freight company that the contracted freight company out sourced to.

It took more than two weeks and countless hours on the telephone to get the broken TV picked up. Most of the logistics of which I had to arrange, because Customer Support seemed incapable to arrange it.

It also took endless hours trying to get a replacement shipment. I was given everything from "Dell's policy is to refund, not replacement," being told to call Samsung, having orders opened in my account (without my permission) at full MSRP price, etc.

In the midst of all of this I got a countless array of contradictory and frustrating emails and other communications: being told the TV shipped, then the next day getting an email that it was delayed, the another email saying to call a certain number, followed by another email saying the TV was delivered, etc.

It finally came to the point of having to open a BBB complaint. Three days after that I get a phone call from someone in the "Advanced Resolutions Team" who hadn't read all of the events, didn't have an answer, and told me he would "write some emails" and get back to me in 24-48 hours.

It's now 52 hours since that call with no information. I know that it's only been four hours over, but really? After 64 days is it so much to ask to have a status phone call or email? Is it too much to ask that when you call me, have some sort of plan in mind? Or at least be aware of the situation?

I've tried to call the person in question; phone calls go direct to voice mail and have not be returned. I tried emailing the person; but have received no response.

How is this "Advanced Resolution?"
