Disappointing Support Experience

I'll start by saying I've seen way too many people on here with a similar experience to what I'm currently going through, which is both sad and scary.

I ordered a "fully loaded" $3k+ XPS 17 on January 19th.  After production and shipping, my laptop showed a delivery date of January 29th.  Unfortunately, that date came and went.  FedEx changed my delivery date to "unknown" and the status changed to Delivery Pending.  That was now nearing 2 weeks ago.  After several traces and calls to both Dell and FedEx, Fedex finally admitted that the package has been "lost".

Unfortunately, I'm still struggling with Dell Support about this.  I'm out $3100 with no laptop and no clear answer as to how long I need to wait to get a replacement device or even a refund.  They keep telling me a different story every time I call.  First it was the "lie" that despite what the Fedex tracking says, the device is actually coming from Asia and will make it by Feb 6th.  Feb 6th came and went and several times I get different answer like I'll hear back from logistics within 24-48 hours.  Each time, I get no update or answer until a few days later when I call again and start over.

Still in the middle of this with no answer in sight.  I just got off the phone with Fedex and they said the notes on the trace are clear that the package is lost and I have this confirmed....yet the Dell logistics team can't do anything until they close the case.  Not sure why I can get this confirmation from Fedex but Dell can't.  No sense of urgency to help me...just stringing me along over and over again.  I really want the device I ordered, but almost want to go the refund route so as to not support Dell's business with my hard earned money.

So frustrated!

Finally got the order replaced. Still waiting for it to be shipped. This only happened because I have connections on the business side of Dell in my work life. If I didn’t have those contacts, I’d probably still be waiting.

Your best bet is to contact your credit card provider, and open a dispute for undelivered merchandise.  Let them deal with Dell.

Thank you for the idea. I may in fact do that but it’s incredible that I’d have to do that with a company like Dell.
    I appreciate it.

I feel your pain. I’m dealing with a very similar situation with an order I placed on Jan 19th and Dell has $3100+ of my money and they do nothing but lie to me. I’ve already reported them to the better business bureau. Good luck to you!
