Optiplex 5040 MT - False Advertisement
I had purchased two Optiplex 5040 SFF and found that the DELL website is misleading. If you look a the attached photo, it shows an Internal SD Card Reader. No where on this page, does it say it's OPTIONAL.
When I received the ordered and asked, they said I had to purchase the item, however, that is only for Custom Made Orders. Does anyone agree with me that I've been duped and this is FALSE advertising. Has anyone registered complaints to the Better Business Bureau or the FTC?
This is like seeing a car ad with 4 wheels only to find it delivered on cinder blocks.

Hi ipodipoor,
Thanks for posting.
While I see your point, I'd like to point out that there is only one front panel bezel for the OptiPlex 5040, it is not economically feasible to produce two and change them depending on customer preference.
With that said, I feel that our marketing department could do a better job in explaining that the photograph may not be representative of all models with all options. I will forward your concerns to them and hopefully they can make changes to more accurately reflect that the SD card reader is an option and not a standard item.
I can also relate to your analogy with the car ad, but it's more like seeing the onboard navigation features on the dashboard of the car in the advertisement, only to find out after you purchased that it was an option, and there was no obvious mention visible.
If you need further assistance, please contact me privately. Thanks.
Regards,
Robert
