Go to SolutionPC warranty question, adding a SSD?
I have a friend who has a dell gaming laptop. If that friend, hypothetically, were to have replaced the ssd with a larger capacity one, would that void the warranty for the whole laptop or just the ssd? In this hypothetical question, no damage was done to any of the system components, let's just say they're a computer tech with enough experience repairing laptops to know what they're doing.

So a representative of Dell contacted me through messaging =
Regarding the SSD upgrade, the original PC warranty will not be voided as long as there was no damage to the PC while installing SSD. The SSD itself will not be covered under the PC warranty.
