Drive space showing full when not full

We have a LUN in Equal logic that shows full (1tb) but there is only 916tb on the drive. How can I change it to show the proper amount of data available on the drive?

You have to check if you meet the requirements for using scsi unmap/space reclamation within you Guest OS. Together with  HIT and EQL FW and a thinprovisioning Volume.

As a Block device a EQL volume doesnt know when a upper Filesystem deletes data because the FS only mark this data as deleted and wait for overwriting it with new data when needed. So a EQL volume only see the data consumtion as a  high watermark. Thats total normal for a block device storage.
