F12 after power on

I tried F12 and it doesn’t work.  

I tried it both from restart and cold power up and got no response.

You have to tap-it once-or-twice at the perfect time.

It's harder with a SSD.

I think F2 is the other Dell key, but F12 should work.

From Windows, the easiest path is Settings → Recovery → Advanced startup → Restart now → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → UEFI Firmware Settings → Restart. That will reboot straight into BIOS/UEFI setup without needing to catch a boot key. tomsguide

You can also use a shortcut route:

• Hold Shift while clicking Restart.

• Then follow Troubleshoot → Advanced options → UEFI Firmware Settings → Restart. laptopmag

If you prefer a command, Windows can reboot directly into firmware with shutdown /r /fw on many UEFI systems. Some PCs still use a manufacturer key at power-on, commonly F2, Del, F10, F12, or Esc, but the Windows route is the most reliable when you’re already logged in.

that is great if the system boots and you can get to W11.  I created the recovery drive to use when the system won’t boot. 

I’ve tried F12 and it doesn’t work.  

If F12 has no response then CMOs is corrupted needs to open up AIO removing back panel and replace CMOs battery w a new battery followed by CMOs jumper clear cmos

Can you give me instructions to make this replacement or point me to some help with it.  I was a SE on network routers for 19 years, but some guidance would be helpful.

Remove all USB dongles and try a plain-generic WIRED USB keyboard.
