Dell g5 5587 Ram upgrade
I own a dell g5 5587 with an intel i5-8300h CPU and 1050-ti gpu AND a Single 8gb Ram Stick DDR4-2666 Sk hynix
I tried to run my system on Dual-channel by adding an identical Ram stick.
My laptop kept crashing randomly and had multiple BSoD.
After running a diagnostic test it gave me this message : Memory errors detected. Limit exceeded. additional errors will not be resolved. location : DIMM B. Error code 2000-0122
I tested same RAM stick on different system everything worked fine, so I thought maybe it was the slot that had a problem
so I put ram stick only on second slot and my pc won't boot
i want to know how to solve this issue, does the second slot not support same voltage as first slot ? is there something wrong with the bios

Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply
It must be the ram socket causing this problem, system won't boot using only 2nd slot with both modules.
since my warranty expired and buying another system board is not an option, i ll have to live with it
maybe i'll be using a single 16 gb stick

Test the soDIMM that produced the fault in the other slot. If it fails there, the module is bad. If it doesn't, test the other module in the slot where the suspect one failed. If it fails there, the socket is the problem - replace the system board.
