Cannot reboot ubuntu feisty - Dimension 9200

Hi this is my first post in this community I have a Dimension 9200 DXP061 and ubuntu feisty installed on a raid 0. I noticed that the computer was unable to reboot, suspend, hibernate... This was because i have the latest bios installed 2.5.0. I downgroaded it to 2.4.2 and solved the problem and now all work fine. Now all of the components in my computer work fine with ubuntu, but sounblaster X-FI card is not supported yet. Integrated audio works fine. I saw in alsa project site: " Card delivered to developers. Completely new architecture. Creative actively preventing support due to no datasheets being released to ALSA developers. Reverse engineering work not started due to lack of time" If you are thinking in buying a dell, and use ubuntu, dont buy the SOUNDBLASTER X-FI CARD. It will not work. Regards Iván.

Creative can't be considered as the most cooperative hardware manufacturer anyway... In general Linux users should be extremely careful when buying a Creative product.

Hi! I'm trying to install Ubuntu Feisty 64 bits. on a Dimension 9200 too, but it hangs when loading kernel when it says 100% loaded. Did it happened to yours?

Hi. I have same computer as you. I'm going to download 32 bit version to try with it. I would prefer not to erase the raid.

Hi! I have installed ubuntu several times and remember once i had the same problem. First of all do you have a core 2 duo? If u don't have it you cannot install ubuntu 64 Mine is a core 2 duo e6600, and my bios is 2.4.2 If u have a raid 0 configured try erasing it and creating again (you will lost all your data). I don't recommend you to install ubuntu 64 bits because it is not much faster than the 32 bits version and you will have a lot of software compatibility problems. (Ex. flash player, vmware, vlc...) , but if you want to try it i think you will solve your problem erasing raid configuration and creating again. Once you will able to boot from live cd if u want to know how to install ubuntu on raid 0 I can do a howto explaining it. Regards Mr.Ip

I downloaded the 32 bit version, and then it boots. It would be great if you could explain me how to install Ubuntu with RAID 0.
