Iam new to this forum and Linux/ Ubuntu.

I recently purchased a dell A840 Laptop with Ubuntu Preinstalled and everything worked out-of-the-box and I loved it. Within days, the hard disk developed Bad sectors and crashed. Dell is sending a replacement hard disk.

While the hard disk was unstable, I created  a dell resuce disk. I have that DVD but Iam not sure if it would have got created correctly as I fear the bad sectors would have appeared by then. I also have the UBUNTU 8.04 LTS DVD.

Besides this , I also found a Dell  OS Factory Recovery 8.04.1 DVD ISO here . But Iam not sure if this is applicable for my model Dell A840

Can you folks advice me which media should I use to Install UBUNTU on the new replacement hard disk ?
