Some quick Questions

Will the laptop be available from dell.com later this fall? Or will it only be limited for people who opt in or something?

Also, will the sputnik dell image be installed out of the box. e.g. will the laptop be 100% ready out of the box? Of course I can enable packages myself, but just wanted to know...

Thanks!

Also, will a ubuntu logo key replace the windows one? It would be very cool if that was added ... would make it feel much more at home, having a native ubuntu super key and all

I think a sputnik-specific sticker for the meta key would be even better.

But yes, the plan (that they've published and talked about extensively) is that Ubuntu will ship installed on the drive. The laptop is available for purchase right now, you don't need to wait.

Thanks, but I will wait for the official release to buy one.

Doesn’t look like we will be able to replace the windows logo at least for a little while, but who knows what the future will bring? :-)

Thank you for the response. I really hope the ubuntu circle of friends logo key is added :)

P.S. I hope your tweet means something about the launch date: " Next big milestone, is next Thurs, October 4: 55th anniversary of Sputnik launch and orbit."
