Ubuntu preloaded laptops

http://www.ubuntu.com/dell

and

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/359740/dell-drops-ubuntu-pcs-from-website-for-now

Indicate that Dell used to provide some preloaded Ubuntu products, but for whatever reason stopped doing so.  I chatted with a consumer and business representative and it seems like there are currently only 2 options for a Ubuntu preloaded laptop, both of which are under 15".

I am looking for a 15 or 17 inch model.  I have purchased a Ubuntu preloaded laptop from http://www.system76.com in the past and been very pleased.  I would go ahead and buy from them in a heartbeat, however, my fiance has a sleek sexy 17" XPS laptop with Window 7 and Im really wanting something more like that than the current line of attractive, but not as sleek System76 models.

I know that I could do some research and probably put Ubuntu on many of the "windows only" Dell models, but I really dont have time or energy to mess with that and I dont want to pay for an OS Im not going to use.  Heck, if I wanted to do that Id just get a macbook and load Linux on that. But I have dealt with hardware incompatibilities on too many systems not officially supported for Linux and dont want to do that anymore.  I just need a machine that works out of the box and it needs to run Ubuntu.

Anyway, the point of my post is to ask whether there is any plan to expand the Ubuntu line of products, and also to hopefully let Dell know that there is some demand for Linux on consumer level PCs and laptops.

Thank you very much for your time and any responses.

Thanks ieee488.  I had not seen the page you send.  however, it refers to preinstalled systems, but I cannot find where one would purchase a preloaded Dell system.  This confirms that I can most likely install Ubuntu on most Dell systems, but I woudl still need to purchase a laptop with an operating system I dont plan to use.  Do you know if its possible to buy a Dell system with no OS included?

What that page tells you is that you if you installed Ubuntu on it yourself whether it is "certified" to work or not.

Ubuntu isn't in that great of a demand as a preinstalled OS apparently which is why Dell doesn't have more of them.

I bought a dell inspirio  mini 910 notebook about 2 years ago, maybe going on 3. It came out of the box with UBUNTU. I love it, but am very frustrated with dell now. I can't get support.  I want to upgrage to version 11. 8 is too old for on line upgrdes. dell sent me a usb stic with the ubuntu image of ver 8 for this unit, to be used in hD fail. now I want the same but with ver 11 and no help.  they now say no support even though they sold it to me.  The last thing i want to do is go back to windows. Is my only option to download a usb stik from ubuntu's site and see what happens. I was afraid that there would be hardware issues.  Has anyone out there tried to move from 8 to 11 on one of these preloaded Dell notebooks?

The earlier post had that last sentence in there because I was typing on a small Kboard and it came out wrong, I didn't notice it until I saw your rather gruff response.  No intention of bypassing anything, just was looking for some help, because Dell refused to support this product that they sold me.  The post as you see has been corrected now.

I need a laptop with Ubuntu Linux preinstalled. I do not use another operating system, therefore, not need it. What are the options?. Why we want to impose blood and fire an operating system?.
