Alienware 17 R4 LCD Bleed

Guys,

I purchase my Alienware 17R4 in July 2017. In the first day of use I notice the infamous LCD bleed issue on the 4K Display. This issue reported first online in 2016. To make the story short, after six replacement units, I had made the conclusion that Dell has not fix the design flaw on this units and keep selling the 17R4 with the same design flaw.

I think is time that Dell admit the flaw, for once and for all, replace the LCD of all 17R4 with 4K Display having this issue after fixing the design flaw.

Already send you information for your record...At this point I am waiting for final decision from Dell. Check the ticket number. Really i want to keep the machine, like it but this problem is from 2016 and Alienware has not fix the production flaw. I think is time Alienware recognize the flaw and replace everyone 4K LCD with something that work.

My biggest issue is that keep selling this units knowing that the LCD Bleed is there!

So here a update, I just got a call today, they are sending next week a new LCD screen and a new bezel that according to Quality control must fix the issue. This are not the parts going out from their production line. The Quality control team will be in my office. We will see if this will fix the issue once and for all.

I got my LCD replace today, I was promise a new LCD screen. I got a refurbish LCD and now the Bleed is worst! This is the last Alienware Notebook or Dell. I ask the tech to put the old LCD back, he didnt comply. So I dont want to use the unit anymore. It is bad.

I just received my Alienware 17 R4 2017 last week.  I've not been able to use it yet due to the horrible, awful performance issues of this laptop.  My 5 year-old M17 R3 circa 2012 is faster than this machine.  I decided to download the Dell recovery image for it and it's installing as I type this.

Point being, I noticed not only the horrible bleed-through of the display but it appears I have a dead pixel.  I will be calling Alienware about this and I am hoping they will replace the screen.  It's not even a week old.

I was able to get Quality Control using our company account reps. They are special ordering a replacement unit, will be verify by quality control department and hand delivered. We will see how it goes after 5 replacement unit and one crap lcd exchange. This will be the 6 unit and I hope they get it right.

So yesterday I received my 6 replacement unit hand delivery by Quality Control from Dell. The issue still there. At this point Dell need to switch LCD brands. I dont think they can fix this issue..

This is the current system during game play!

I am waiting to see what are they going to do now. Anyone out there with the New 4K UHD Pannel with  G-Sync screen that can provide if the bleeding issue is there?

    This is During Boot:

Ok guys, I am done. I got a Engineer from Dell Quality Control to check the LCD after the 6 replacement unit. He took the feedback to try to fix this issue. After 3 weeks, no fix to this system that people had been reporting this issue from 2016. I am returning the system for a full refund. Last Alienware I will buy and I can not recommend this brand to anyone I know. Time to test a Razor Pro.
