I purchased the Logitech z506 5.1 sound system for my alienware x51. i received it the same time i received my Alienware. I was able to hear sound from my subwoofer, and my center, rear left and rear right speakers. Unfortunately however I couldn't receive sound from my front left and front right speakers. I know everything is plugged in correctly because i can still adjust the volume from the front right speaker, there just isn't any sound coming from it. All of my drivers are updated. Also there was no sound in the cut scenes for my games, and in some games certain sound effects were missing such as gunfire or footsteps.

Yesterday i decided to try and fix the problem myself with the help of the internet but i only messed it up even worse. now there is no sound coming from my speakers whatsoever. When i open my "volume mixer" in the bottom right corner, it shows the bar moving up and down as if it were playing sound, but there is absolutely no sound coming from my speakers.

I have windows 8 if this helps. Help is much appreciated because I know very little about computers, especially with Windows 8.
