My hard-drive recently went corrupt on my Dimension 8100 (P4 1.5) and Dell replaced it with a new one. At the time of the crash, I was running an upgrade version of Windows XP Home that I had installed on top of Windows ME. When I performed this upgrade, I upgraded the BIOS to version XP2. After receiving a new hard-drive from Dell and installing it, I did NOT want to go the route of installing Windows ME and then upgrading back to Windows XP Home, . so, . . I installed a "clean" version of Windows XP Professional. With the exception of having to install the Turtle Beach Sound drivers everything went very smooth. However, I experienced a problems in 2 areas. I successfully installed my printer and then after the install it quit working. In addition to the printer not working, I noticed an "Unsupported Device" error under "Other devices" in the Hardware Device Manager list. I checked Microsoft's XP support page and both of these problems are listed and are believed to be caused by the BIOS. The Unsupported device issue is believed to be the E-Support button on the front of my Dell Dimension 8100. The drivers and support for the E-Support button are not being found.

So what to do? I noticed that BIOS Version A08 addresses my issues but isn't this an older BIOS Version? I was under the impression that the latest BIOS for Windows XP was XP2?
