Hi,

When I try to start up my dimension 8300 all I see is the dell logo with and the F2 and F12 at the top. I can't access my setup by taping on the F2 key, neither can I use the F12 key for selecting the boot menu. If I try to access the setup menu, all I get is: entering setup and it then stops there/hangs? If I try to access the boot menu, all I then get is a beep? If do nothing when the system boots, then it also hangs at the beginning, e.g. never leaves the screen with the dell logo displayed.

My drive A (diskette) is running all the time, but nothing happens? And it doesn’t matter if I connect or disconnect IDE 1 (HD) and IDE 2 (CD-ROM) I can’t get the system to start up.

Do I need a new motherboard?
