I have a Dell Dimension 9100 with 4 drives: Hard drive, CD RW,DVD RW and Floppy Drive. I Haven´t done any change on them. The only hardware-related action I did was to upgrade from the initial 512 MB RAM to 2 GB.

The operating system installed is Win 7 Ultimate.

I was going to fresh install Win 7 Pro from a DVD, but when I went into the BIOS, I was surprised it wasn´t listened in boot sequence so I was never be able to boot from my DVD Unit.

I´m a little bit disoriented because I can use both, the CD and DVD from Windows.

I want to add what I found in the devices adminstrator in Conttrol Panel and what is listed in the BIOS Section, hoping can give any clue

Device Administrator:

NEC DVD +- RW ND - 3530A ATA DEVICE
HL-DT-ST CD_RW GCE_8487B ATA DEVICE
Maxtor 6L080M0 ATA DEVICE

BIOS Section:

Boot sequence
1- Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive
2- Onboard SATA Hard Drive
3- Onboard or USB Floppy Drive

I´ve extensively searched on Internet about this and as I can guess it is a Driver-Jumper-Connection setting,  almost read the whole Dell Dimension 9100 Owner´s Manual but it doesn´t have any reference to the Hard Drive, CD, DVD rigth connection-jumper configuration
