Extraneous characters popping up!!!
Help!
I continue to have a problem with strange, extraneous letters and characters mysteriously appearing when I am not even using the keyboard.
Example - I am working in Excel and will see characters that I have not typed appear in whichever cell has the cursor at the time. The solutions I have tried are:
(1) Muting the microphone in the "Volume Control" box. Does this prevent the microphone from detecting sound? I have also tried speaking into the mike to see if it will type what I say. Words are typed when I do this, but they are inaccurate, even though I have voice trained the speech recognition.
(2) I am on my second keyboard, and this phenomenon has happened with both. BTW, both keyboards will routinely lag behind my typing, or even totally miss characters I type - as if the keyboard can't keep up. What's up with that?
(3) Scanned for viruses - no detected viruses.
Any other ideas?
