Inspiron 560 Processor upgrade

I have an Inspiron 560 with a Core2 duo E7500.  Motherboard is 0K83V0.  I came into possession of a working Core2 Extreme QX9770 processor.  I'm wondering if it's compatible with my motherboard (I know they're both Socket 775LGA).  Bios version is A06.

So I'm left with 2 questions...is this processor compatible with my board and BIOS version?  And would this cpu need additional cooling over the stock dell fan?

Thanks for your help!

I also have a 560s and am wanting to upgrade the CPU.  What is the fastest CPU but yet the safest option as far as cooling?

What cpu cooler would you recommend?  I need to be able to search & sort video/edit video/search through thousands of family pics and complete genealogy......

    Thanks in advance.
