Something is wrong with Java

I have a Dell Precision 3000.  When I tried to go to AOL tech support I could not get in to it.  AOL says it is java.  Ive tried everything including redownloading it but now my computer will not do my games on Pogo.  When I try, it goes back to desktop and AOL says it has to restart me.  I dont know how to correct this.  There is something wrong with the applet.  Im not new to computers but this is over my expertise with computers.  When I went to Java.com and tried to get help it also took me back to the desk top and AOL had to restart again.  If someone can help with this I would be very grateful.

If anyone else is having problems with Java I can help them.  It took two days to figure it out and lots of emails and getting on here with no results.  But I have fixed it and now my computer is working perfect.  It all started when I realized I could not get on AOL tech online.  It would not go there.  I called AOL but that didnt fix it so I just did everything I could think of to fix it and if you have ever been on Java then you know that it is extremely technical and very hard to understand some of it.  But someone suggested that I uninstall the Java I had and reinstall it which is what I did and now it is working.  Before when I tested it it said the applets were not working but now they.  Also I did some things with my Internet Explorer that AOL suggested and I think that that helped too.  I got on AOL tech online today with no problems.  So I know that it is fixed and I can play my Pogo game again with no problems.
