USB data cable

Hello all,

I recently purchased a Nokia 6610 cell phone and also bought a DKU-5 USB data cable inorder to work with my phone thruough a PC. After installing the driver which came with the cable and installing the software, my computer is not seeing the phone or the cable when I plug it in the USB port. The port works fine with other products, and so I'm a little confused. I tried unistalling a reinstalling but nothing changed. I'd appriciate any help anyone could offer. Thanks.

Does the camera have to be set up to transfer data via USB?  Some phones do not automatically connect when the cable is plugged in, only when the USB I/O is selected in the phone.

I finally solved the problem. I had to plug the cable into another one of the USB ports in the back of the computer. After doing that, it was recognized. Thanks anyway.
