Edit: After reading additional posts, It seems the fan is running too fast, unnessasarily.

ive had my a2010 for a little over a year and i just updated my bios and when i went to restart my computer the fan sounded very loud.  it the told me i had a cpu fan failure and a system fan failure.  now everytime i start my computer it tells me about my fan failure and am wondering what to do.

If you have a Dell warranty on the XPS A2010, you need to contact Dell Tecnical Support about this.

Have you tried reverting to the old BIOS version?

i don't know a whole lot about computers  so im not sure how i go back to the old bios version if you could let me know it would be greatly appriciated.  thanks

Hello, I have the same problem with my XPS A2010. I tried already to install the older BIOS Version 2.02. You can download also older BIOS versions on the download area. But it doesn´t help. My fan is still at 100%. So I contacted the Dell-support and i am waiting for an answer.

After 3 hours on the phone with Dell, I'm waiting for call back from XPS service center (year right is my initial thought).

This is also a XPS One A2010 and the fan are on full tilt - quite obnoxious.

CPU temperatures are quite low: Core 1/2 -> 30 & 32*C @ about 20% load

I'm hoping it's as simple as swapping in new fans, I have taken the liberty the unit with vaccum and compressed air, some dust came out, nothing usual.

We'll see if Dell calls back and resolves this issue.

Mine started when I updated the Bios to 2.0.5, but that maybe of been because I had not shutdown the system in quite a while, typically I put it to "sleep" at night. I have rolled bios back to early version of the 2.0.2, reloaded defaults in bios, tried the same for all available version, but no luck - the CPU fan failure and system fan failure, press F1 to continue - continues!

I was unlucky in that is happened very close to the weekend, hopefully monday Dell will call and we'll resolved this.

:emotion-5:I got today the first replay of the DELL Technical Support. They know about this problem and they are working on a solution and hope the new BIOS version will be avilable soon.

That's great news. I have spent close to 5 hours on the phone trying to get my issue resolved.

I'm at bios version 2.0.5 with new Dell Logo and that hideous fan noise. It doesn't even shutdown properly anymore. Power button stays lit and fans keep howling away.

Dell's customer service (or lack there of!) is making me regret ever buying a Dell. It may be my first and my last.

Ever PC I ever built in the past may not of had the polish of the XPS One but they certainly lasted longer than one year without issues.

Hopefully Dell comes through and then maybe I'll consider the XPS One 24"!

Mine is dead at the moment, doesn't even get to DELL logo of the 2.0.5 bios update.

Turns on, button button goes amber, goes blue and starts beeping.

On bright side, customer service rep. has been very professional in getting my ownership tranfer expedited, so I can get this problem behind me. Most likely at this point it looks like fan controller and motherboard (if they are discrete items).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Dell will pull through and repair the shortcoming.

Probably be my last all in one, that's for sure. Too many eggs in one basket!

Where's the new BIOS release that fixes this issue?  I have many unusable machines and Dell's been aware of this issue for nearly 2 weeks.  How about a progress report?  Is that a possibility?  People are expecting answers from me, it's only fair I expect answers from the root of this issue.
