I've seen the standard xga screen for this notebook. It's okay. The one on the Toshiba M35 is brighter and clearer, though. However, I do have "older" eyes and appreciate the readable fonts.

Are the upgraded screens on the 8600 better, brighter, and still readable for word processing and the like?
