Accessing BIOS from Windows

Is it possible to access the BIOS controls without rebooting? I vaguely remember being able to access it on at least a PC through a windows command prompt. I need to access BIOS on either a 600m or a 8600. Thanks!

No there is NO way to do that. You must reboot and hit the F2 key to access the BIOS setup system.

Lost that capability when Windows went to the ACPI support.

Dell dosent have a utility that allows you to do that...

I know i have used Sony and IBM laptops that have utilitys that allow you to change anything you can in the BIOS in Windows, but again that depends on the PC manufacturer and the tools they make availible.
