Yes, thanks.  I guess I didn't make clear that I have followed your solution thread which eventually leads me to directions that begin by saying that I should press and hold Ctrl then hit F8 which brings up the black screen which enables me to start up in safe mode.  But according to directions it should also provide an Advanced Boot Menu which I can then follow to complete the task.  But the Advanced Boot is missing.  In order to proceed further with restore directions I have to find or replace Advanced Boot Menu.  So the question is:  How do I do that?

The directions in the restore thread state "Press Ctrl and hold and then press F8 and release both at the same time.  Nevertheless, doing it this way or just clicking F8 both bring up the same Advanced Options Menu that allow for Boot in Safe Mode - which is the page where it should also offer the option Advanced Boot Menu - which it does not.
