Amd driver

Hello, I got this laptop "Dell Inspiron 3521 (Intel Core i7-3537U, 15.6", 4GB, 1TB, AMD Radeon HD 8730M@2GB" one week ago and I got a problem with the amd display driver. I allready read the other post about this and followed the steps, but nothing has changed, what should I do?

    Hi  Ionu7S,

It appears to be an issue with the display driver. Your system is shipped with AMD Switchable graphics configuration. You may refer to link Here for more information. I would suggest you to uninstall the AMD driver from control panel followed by Intel display driver and restart the computer.

You may download the Intel driver from Here. Download/install the driver and restart the computer when prompted.

Once the Intel driver is updated, you may download/install the AMD driver from Here.

    Hope this helps.

    Hy,

like I said, already followed and did those steps, nothing changed.

Where can I see if the video are switching between Intel and Amd?

    Thank you.

The only way I've observed this is to run DxDiag (Do a windows search for it)

The AMD chip will appear under the Display tab when it is being utilised.

The only way I've achieved this is by connecting a second display however this isn't what you're asking...maybe you could run a game in a separate window (not full screen, otherwise you'll never see the DxDiag window) and see if it shows up?

DXDIAG is part of the Directx June 2010 patch.  You extract the patch into a folder then run DXsetup.exe

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

It may require removing all display adapter drivers and REINSTALLING the Dell INTEL Graphics and AMD Drivers.

    Hi Ionu7S,

If the above steps are not working, I would suggest you to uninstall the current video drivers from control panel as well as from Device Manager by following the steps below :

    • Press Windows + X button on keyboard
    • Click on Device Manager
    • Expand Display Adapters
    • Right click each display adapter and click on Uninstall
    • Check the box 'Delete the driver software for this Device' and click on OK
    • Restart the computer.

Upon restart, First Download/install the Intel driver from Here and then update the ATI driver from Here. Follow the onscreen instructions for installing the drivers and restart the system when prompted.

You may right click on desktop screen and open ATI Catalyst Control Center to configure ATI Switchable graphics.

    Hope this helps.
