Good news from the moderator on this issue (see below).

Only limited results have come back from people that have obtained the revised screens. Most people that have replaced the "original screen" with the "revised screen" comment that it is an improvement.
However, many new owners that are seeing the D620 for the first time (with revised screen), are finding similar issues to those already raised in this thread. Perhaps the improvement is not that great.

Model details so far:
LG-Philips 1440x900 WXGA+ - Original model LPL 0000 Jan 2005, Revised model LPL 00E0 Jan 2006

Replacement Kit reference for WXGA+: WW701 14.1, WXGA+ LCD Service Kit, D620,V2
