Dell Latitude Ls Touchpad problems....

I was cleaning some sticky goo off of my case (I had a type of sticker on it) and I was using rubbing alcohol. Im not sure if this would affect the touchpad but I decided to take the casing apart as to not get the alcohol on the touchpad, although a tiny bit did get on it before I took the casing apart. when I put everything back together, (i've taken this laptop apart a million times to fix things) and when I turned the computer on, all of a sudden the touchpad didn't work, which doesn't make any sense since it was working fine!! Anyone have any thoughts, im getting quite frustraited with this!! Please help!

If you haven't already tried I would take the machine apart again and verify that everything is connected correctly. I've also read that the touchpads are somewhat delicate and can break easily if they are mishandled.
