I recently had some problems with the display on one of my computers, so I took the Display Assembly off and apart (to check the integrity of the flex cable). Everything looked fine, so I put it back together, but now the backlight no longer comes on (basically, I get a super-dark screen that faintly shows the Windows splash screen). I took it apart using the Dell Service Manual PDF, but it doesn't identify a backlight in the Display Assembly. Is it built into the LCD panel? Is it something I can replace, or do I have to take it to a shop? I intend to re-check the connections of the flex cable, but are there any other things I can check while it's apart? Any help would be appreciated.
