i have an e1705, i purchased in june 2006. core duo 1.66, 7900gs, sigmatel hd audio, 2gb ram,useless info. recently about two months ago..my audio jack stopped outputing music..so if i plugged in a green plug, the sound would cut from the laptop speakers, and not come out of the headphones, or 2.1 speakers i tried..this was a pretty big setback, but i figured i could live with it or get an external soundcard. now, my sound has began to start to cut off from the laptop speakers too..basically its either hit or miss that sound will come out. i was able to fix this originally by tapping the audio out hole on the right side of the laptop, but then this progressed to actually pushing it, and now sometimes it just wont stay on either way. another way i seemed to have fixed this problem, was by plugging a pink microphone plug into the microphone jack..dont ask how that fixes my speakers..but it does about 90% of the time...so im thinking something may have come loose on the inside of the laptop, maybe its detecting the green cord even though its not there? im really not sure what to do, and if anyone has any ideas or can relate to the subject please voice your opinion. thanks guys
