Inspiron 9400 Fan Problems


I have an Inspiron 9400 notebook and I have recently been hvaing problems with the fan.  Its as if my computer over heats so the fan kicks on.  The problem is this happens everytime I use my computer and when the fan kicks on it slows down my computer tremendously.  I have used the can of air to clean where the fans are and it didnt seem to help.  Is anyone else having a similar problem or can I get some insight on how to resolve the problem please?

    Install I8kfangui, a utility useful in monitoring all the system temperatures and fan speeds. It also can be set up to turn the fans on at the temperatures you want. The Dell fan control allows the CPU temps to get too high, then turns the fan on high. With the utility, you can have the fans turn on at lower speeds at lower temps. With my I1705, I get excellent control with very flat temps, and the fans never come on high. The program is free.
