Inspiron6000

Has anyone had trouble with incompatibilty with the 6000? All of my programs were on another Inspiron with windows xp but now I am having screen problems and they say it is my software. The only difference is the wide screen and I wonder if that would make software be incompatible. The problem is it never happens in the same program. Screen goes crazy and freezes.

    No problems to date.

Can you provide specific programs with which you are having an issue? Are you connected to a network? Is the machine used for home or business.

Do you have any external peripherals installed?

    Are you running Anti-virus?

    How much memory?

    Graphics Video type?

Not sure what "goes crazy" means -- or freezes.

Do you have all the latest drivers installed?

There are so many things that can contribute to this -- without more specifics its hard to diagnois

I have 1 Gig of memory. Dell has no answers for me and it is a new computer. It doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't happen in the same program. Last time it was when I was on the internet. Going crazy means flashing lines on the screen and it freezes. Can't do anything but turn it off. They replaced everything on the computer but it is still doing it. I haven't even hooked up my printer yet. I put on photoshop and a genealogy program. All that worked on my other XP. Nothing else but Norton anti virus. It can't find anything wrong.

I also noticed a problem with the new Blutooh manager from Toshiba, it seems to steal the windows "foucus" when I am using firefox. I try typing somthing in a browser windo and every 30 seconds later the window goes cold like I picked some other window. I thought I had a virus.

I had to shut off applications until I found the one (Bluetooth Manager) causing the problem.
