I have a Latitude C640 and it appears that windows XP is possible corrupt, as it will only boot to the blue XP screen just before you get the logon and it wont go any further. My mouse still works but no activity from XP. I wanted to resinstall the OS but now the CD ROM will not work either. Is there any way to reinstall this without using the onboard CD ROM or am I kinda sunk? I have tried everything to get the cd rom to work short of tearing it apart? I even tried the onboard diagnostics buut it runs then tells me there is no partition for the diagnostics and to insert the recovery cd but the cd rom wont work so thats useless.. Help please I am banging my head off the wall here!
