Memory??
I have a DELL Inspiration 7500 Laptop. I am trying to upgrade the memory to 512 MB. Here is the problem:
64MB in Slot1- System Boots
128MB in Slot1- System Boots
256MB in Slot1- System DOES NOT Boots
64MB in Slot1 & 256MB in Slot 2 - System Boots
128MB in Slot1 & 256MB in Slot 2 - System Boots
Why does system will NOT accept 256MB in Slot 1?

- will it work in slot one with one of the other chips in slot 2? i've had this problem before when the new ram was clocked higher than the system supported. it would work with a lower clocked dimm installed alongside it but would not work alone

16 x 8 chipset low density INTEL 440BX PC100 CAS2 SDRAM.
I have seen PC133 parts that say They work but it turns out that they are CAS3 when running in PC100
mode so they dont work.
256MB Dell Inspiron/Latitude 144-pin PC100 SDRAM SODIMM
Dell part # 311-1398, 313-0641, 311-4073, 6332P,
Kingston Part# KTD-INSP7500/256Fakeout Cheap PC133 ram is not going to work. Not ever.
