On or Off?
Not really a power mgt. question but did not know where to post. I am on my cpi 3 or 4 times a day usually for 30-45 minutes at a time. Is it better to shut the system down each time or should I leave it up? I did not know which would be better for the cpi's life expectancy. Thanks in advance! P.S. I use AC adapter 99% of the time.

My batteries (two Li-ION batteries) have lasted in my Latitude C800 for 4 years and two months!
What I do:
--- If I am to leave my PC running (I usually do: 24x7 when I'm not traveling), then I leave the batteries in the PC while plugged-in.
--- If I am to leave my PC off for a long time (two weeks), then I will unplug the PC and pull the batteries out.
--- Regardless, I discharge my batteries completely at least once every two months, then charge them while the PC is running, then discharge and charge them again. This I do usually when I travel, but it can be done at the desktop too. The PC should be running while charging, thus the charge is slower (better). The discharge should be until the PC shuts itself off due to low power.
4 years is a long time. One of my batteries just died this week (I think).
