hey ejn63,
I have read through this forum and couldn't help but notice that you are a frequent poster. I am having a problem with my 5150 that seems to be common. The computer will no longer charge even though the green light on my adapter is on, confirming that the adapter is functional. What is the nature of the 5150 motherboard malfunction? Is it possible that it is not my motherboard and is the adapter?

I'd agree with ejn63.
In theory, the green light indicates that the adapter is functional. This, however, is not always the case. For example, if the wires are fractured inside the cable between the adapter and laptop (more common than you'd think) the light will appear on the adapter but the battery won't charge, nor will the laptop run solely on the adapter.
So it is possible the adapter the cause of the problem, but i'd go with ejn63's diagnosis.
