My Studio 1737 is a 2.2 GHz Core Duo running Windows Vista, with 2 GB RAM and 160GB, 7200 rpm HD. It's 64-bit ready, but not hyper-threaded.

It checks out as able to run Windows 7 with just a few, easily fixed issues. And, according to Crucial I can upgrade the RAM to 8 GB.

So, my question is, if I install 7, upgrade the RAM to 8 GB  *and*  install a new 500GB, 7200 rpm HD, am I going to run into power and/or overheating issues? I'm going to be using it as a desktop so I can sit it on a cooling fan if that will help.

I can't find any information on the power supply, but I assume it's not an easy thing to upgrade/swap out in a laptop. 

Anybody have any experience with upgrading this system? Thanks for any and all help,
