USB 3.0 Host Controller Missing
So I had an issue with my Dell XPS L502X that required sending it to the Dell Repair Depot. The repair involved replacing the motherboard and the bottom chassis. When I received the laptop back there was an issue with the wireless and I decided to reformat my hard-drive (Windows 7 x64 bit). Following the reformating, all hardware seemed to operate nominally except for my two USB 3.0 ports. Neither port will recognize anything plugged in and the device manager still lists them as generic USB hubs.
I have reinstalled the Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller driver myself plenty of times as well as having a Dell technical support representative try to remote desktop to my computer for 3 hours with no success. I have tried to use the USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver Utility and it keeps mentioning that the "USB 3.0 Host Controller Not Found".
Is it possible that the driver that Dell is telling me to download is not the correct one, or another driver interfering with the USB 3.0 driver? Any help would be great as I occasionally reformat my hard-drive to keep speed up and get rid of any junk that I may have accrued. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response. Yes I have installed the drivers from that link you sent me. In terms of the order of driver installation (which has downloading the chipset for USB as 2nd), I downloaded the wireless adapter first so I could get on dell.com and then downloaded the chipset.
I have reformatted 3 times and at no time has the USB 3.0 ports ever worked. This has been an issue ever since my motherboard was replaced. I am lost as to how to find the problem that the motherboard just wont interact with the driver.

Thanks for the link. I actually had a service technician come in an replace the motherboard. Following the replacement the USB 3.0 ports were operating nominally, the technician said that it was most likely a hardware issue. I will check your link and try to prevent any possible future issues. Thanks.DELL-Roshan L

Hi Michigan Shirt,
Welcome to the Community,
Did you try to install the driver in the link below ?
www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
If you have formatted the HDD using the Windows DVD did you install the drivers in the correct order ? If the order is not followed it cause a problem while installing the USB 3.0 driver.
Refer to the link below to install the drivers in the correct order:
support.dell.com/.../document
Thank You,
Roshan
